Scotland

Picture
LEGO Scotland is the largest map made out of real LEGO we've ever made. It was also the prototype for all other LEGO relief map's we've built since, though we have refined the methodology since then. It is built on twelve 48-stud baseplates although our digital version is much larger because it doesn't have Shetland in a box. It has and will continue to be used in a range of blogs about Scotland. Spot it at one of our shows!

The data used to make the map is all Ordnance Survey Data and Dan, the map's creator was invited to write a blog for them about the process. Check it out here www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/blog/2019/10/lego-cartography

The map was also chosen as one of Ordnance Survey's
GeoDataViz team’s favourite map's of 2019 and we are absolutely delighted about that: www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/blog/2020/01/geodataviz-favourite-maps-2019
